Teach ex-Service personnel to develop a healthy balance in seven key areas of life, as learned through the Solid Grounds Lifestyle Transition Courses.
Reduce the number of ex-service men and women offending, repeat offending and to reduce pressure on the legal systems.
SOLID GROUNDS OBJECTIVES ARE:
To provide live workshops and online training courses on how to make and sustain a successful military career transition.
Create employment opportunity for future ex-Service personnel beneficiaries to deliver or co-deliver Solid Grounds Training Courses.
Deliver the Solid Grounds training programme as part of the personal development curriculum within the Scottish Prisons & criminal justice systems.
SOLID GROUNDS MOTIVATORS ARE:
To focus on minimising the fallout from the forthcoming HM Forces redundancies, thereby reducing the strain on organisations such as, but not limited to, NHS and other Mental Health services, The Criminal Justice System and DWP.
To reduce the extent of problems ex-Service personnel face, including: Attempted or actual suicide; Relationship/family breakdown; Long-term unemployment; Being caught up in the Criminal justice System (including being admitted to prison); Becoming homeless and financially destitute.
Lifestyle Transition Courses
As per our Constitution, Solid Grounds aims to provide on & offline training courses for ex-Service personnel. This is in support of their transition from military to civilian life, and in view of improving quality of life throughout the ex-Forces community.
